VIOLENCE QUE FAIRE runs our free, anonymous online counselling service on a daily basis. Our aim is to reach and help as many people affected by domestic abuse as possible. To achieve this, we are committed to developing our website to meet the needs of people who are most affected by, and vulnerable to, domestic abuse.
Make a donationOur aim: to break the silence around abuse
Victims of domestic abuse are often isolated, fearful and ashamed. They find it difficult to talk about what they are experiencing, recognise themselves as victims and seek specialist help. Similarly, it is difficult for perpetrators to come forward and ask for help, or those who have witnessed the abuse are often not sure what to do.
Episodes of abuse become more frequent and severe if nothing is done to stop them. Breaking the silence and isolation is essential to stopping the spiral of abuse in a relationship. The goal is to facilitate this first step out of silence so situations can be dealt with as soon as possible.
By helping to break the silence, the violencequefaire.ch online counselling service ensures that situations can be dealt with as soon as possible, thereby reducing the consequences of abuse.
Every day, 300 people visit the website to find information about abuse. On average, the violencequefaire.ch team responds to almost 400 visitors a year.
With a donation of CHF 90, you can help a couple, teenagers, adults, and families, with or without children, break the cycle of abuse and take the first step towards regaining their well-being and security.
Cost: CHF 100,000/year
2024 goal:
To extend the online counselling service to people in French-speaking Switzerland who do not speak French and are more comfortable in English and Italian. This means translating the entire website into these two languages and training specialists in these languages to provide online advice. In addition, VIOLENCE QUE FAIRE wants to make our website accessible to visually impaired people by installing an adapted plug-in on our website.
Estimated cost: CHF 86,000.
VIOLENCE QUE FAIRE would like to thank the cantons of French-speaking Switzerland, the Federal Office for Gender Equality (BFEG), the OAK Foundation and all those who support the Association and help with its activities.
Thanks to the support of public funding bodies and donors for specific projects, we can offer a high-quality service and carry out awareness-raising campaigns throughout French-speaking Switzerland.
